Winter Flower Farm Wedding
HEATHER & ANTHONY
When Heather reached out to me about shooting her winter Flower Farm wedding, I was ecstatic. I had the honor of photographing Heather’s best friend’s wedding (hi Alice!!) and getting to know her throughout that wedding day. I have a distinct memory of thinking how kind and joyful she was and I was so happy that she thought of my for her own wedding.
One thing that I really love about the Flower Farm is that it is truly gorgeous all year round. There are so many areas to take photos there is always a spot in some gorgeous light that we can make some magic in. It is also so easy to bring people in and out of the getting ready areas for photos because everything is so close together. No walking 10 minutes from location to location, eating up all your precious time on your wedding day.
When I met with Heather and Anthony for their engagement session I got to know Anthony as well and I could immediately see why they were perfect for each other. Anthony mirrors the same kindness and respect for Heather that she does for him. They are so gentle and loving with one another, it was an absolute joy to photograph them.
The ceremony site at the Flower Farm is one of my favorite areas. With a gorgeous tree as the backdrop, and the light coming through just so, it makes for such a serene and calm spot to say your vows. I absolutely love it, and the way the ceremony is set up, the light is always perfection.
The golden hour light on this day was unreal. Because this was a winter wedding in January, sunset happened on the earlier side. We planned to go straight from family photos to sunset photos in order to be sure and capture the light, and I am so glad we did. With a little planning ahead of time we were able to time it perfectly and get some absolutely incredible shots before Heather and Anthony joined their cocktail hour. It was only about 10-15 minutes worth of photos but they are some of my favorite from the whole day. This just goes to show you don’t need a ton of time, you just need the RIGHT time.
Before we knew it, it was time for the reception and the most fun part of the night. The energy at a wedding reception never gets old. You can feel the joy and happiness from each and every guest, and this day was no different. From the heartfelt speeches, to their stunning first dance and the literal fireworks during their grand entrance (and exit!), it was truly one for the books.
Thank you to every person that made this day so special. The Flower Farm was amazing as always, Off the Vine Catering provided a delicious meal that everyone was raving about, and Rory with DJ Rockalot absolutely killed it, not only with the music but his superior MC skills, uplighting and cold fireworks that he used not once but TWICE. Teamwork truly makes the dream work!
